20 Powerful Questions Answered by a Positive Thinker

We learn from our mistakes, yet we’re always so afraid to make one. Where is this true for you?

I love making mistakes, especially the ones that rip open my insides. I feel like if the mistake doesn’t nearly kill you, you can’t learn from it. It’s like getting chicken pox – it’s so terrible you can hardly stand it, matter a fact, you feel like you might DIE. But when you finally recover, your body has identified the virus and you’ll never get it again. Same thing with mistakes. If it hurts enough the first time, sure enough you’ll never make the same mistake again.

What risk would you take if you knew you could not fail?

Move to Los Angeles, CA and become part of the Vlog Squad. David Dobrik, I’m coming for you.

What is your greatest strength? Have any of your recent actions demonstrated this strength?

Somehow, I’ve managed to be hilarious, upbeat, and encouraging. All this helps me to meet people, all types of people, and have the ability to talk with them and help them identify their own issues. If I can put a smile on someone’s face, that’s all that matters.

What are the top five things you cherish in your life?

Family, friends, dogs, laptop, tea – in that order

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Wow, sometimes six, sometimes thirty – no where in between.

At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

When I’m driving on a beautiful day, when I see the person I love, when I’m up in the middle of the night and know everyone is sleeping. When I see my parents’ face light up, when I see the innocence of nieces and nephews. When I laugh so hard I cry and when I’m surrounded by people who bring out the best in me. I feel alive all the time.

What do you most connect with? Why?

I connect with the internet, a place where information is infinite. There is something about it that never bores me.

What one piece of advice would you offer a newborn child?

Don’t sleep on your stomach. You’ll die.

Which is worse—failing or never trying?

That’s something based on instinct. I feel like you should never stop trying for your dream. Relationships are instinctual – sometimes a person isn’t worth a try. Sometimes you just know it will fail. Not pessimistic, realistic.

Why do we do things we dislike and like the things we never seem to do?

Because humans love dreams and their imagination, but don’t want to work to live their dreams. We do things we dislike, because we become products of our environment and take life for granted.

What are you avoiding?

Being mediocre and middle-class.

What are you most grateful for?

My parents and their unconditional love. It’s truly extraordinary to have two people love you so much, no matter what you do. They mean more to me than anything else.

What would you say is one thing you’d like to change in the world?

I think racism really sucks. So racism.

Do you find yourself influencing your world, or it influencing you?

Both! The world is so beautiful to me, sometimes I can’t even believe God created it. I know I influence the world – there’s no doubt about that. I’m just being who I’m meant to be one day at a time.

Are you doing what you believe in or settling for what you’re doing?

As a college student, I always feel like I’m settling. But that’s because I feel like I should be on the cover of Forbes right now. I’m not even sure for what yet.

What are you committed to?

My family, friends, and future.

Which worries you more – doing things right or doing the right things?

Doing things right. Definitely makes me more anxious.

Have you been the kind of friend you’d want as one?

Yes. Hell yes. I have my flaws, but I’m a damned great friend.

Do any of the things that used to upset you a few years ago matter at all today? What’s changed?

Not at all. Then things that used to stress me out barely matter now. Everything is temporary, even the beautiful things, but I think that’s awesome. Makes me more appreciative.

We’re always making choices. Are you choosing for your story or for someone else’s?

Mine. On God.

The way you live life is just the perspective you’ve chosen. Some choose to live a life reflecting the worst parts of themselves, while others choose to live a life that reflects their best self. No one is perfect, but it’s a learning process. Choosing to be happy is much easier than choosing to be miserable. If you are alive and breathing, you’re already blessed more than you can imagine. Life is beautiful.
